Surf 2013 Select Boys are California Cup Finalists!

We are #SurfPROUD of our FOUR Surf Zone One teams for making it to the first-ever California Cup! San Diego Surf had more teams advancing to the latter stages of the competition, AND more CA Cup WINS than any other club!

2010 Select Girls- California Cup Champions! “This year has been all about learning and growing for the 2010s and that certainly continued this past weekend. Heading into our last ever 9v9 game together we found ourselves in a situation we had never been in before being 3-0 down. With tired legs and a few injuries we spoke about the importance of grit and never giving up! The second half of was something very memorable. I saw a team of players that gave everything to each other and pushed each other to tie the game 3-3. Going into the extra time they continued with that moment and fully deserved to become Champions of California!” – Coach Craig Barclay

2013 Select Girls – California Cup Champions! “These girls came from 2 goals down in the last 10 minutes to tie the game 2-2 and won on Pk’s! It was an unbelievable comeback to win the Championship!” – Coach Andy Brookfield

2010 Select Boys- Our Select Boys won 2 and lost 1 and failed to advance by one goal on goal differential to the final game. Great weekend all around and represented Surf exceptionally well all weekend with a quality brand of soccer! – Coach Billy Garton

2013 Select Boys – California Cup Finalists! Congrats to these boys on a hard-fought run to the Cup! – Our Boys lost in the final game after winning 2 and tying 1 in the playoffs. Great weekend and a good showing in the 2022 California Cup in Davis! – Coach Ryan Guy
